Sheema's Story
She is the second oldest out of three children and was born and raised in Michigan. She was raised by a single mom who often struggled financially to provide the best home for her children but made sure she taught them to be confident, self-sufficient, responsible and loving women. Sheema was an athlete and played basketball throughout her middle and high school years and graduated college from her dream school--The University of Michigan (GO BLUE!!). She has always had a compassionate and caring heart for people which is why she has spent a lifetime of commitment to serving people in the community in various capacities. She married her husband and they are the parents to six beautiful children. When she became a mother, she thought she knew everything there was to know about being a mom and with her arsenal of tools, skills and knowledge from her social work experience--she was gonna be the "perfect mother". She quickly learned that her expectation of perfection was the furthest from the truth. Her parenting journey was challenging at times but rewarding for the most part. But it wasn't until her son became a kindergartner when parenting began to get a little more challenging as the calls & notes started to come from the school about his lack of attention, lack of focus, disruptive behavior, etc. This was the beginning of needed interventions, behavior modification charts, teacher meetings and undying advocacy! This lived-experience motivated her to start her own company--Renaissance Family Solutions. She was inspired in coaching and consulting parents to help them navigate difficult systems to help stabilize their families. As a parent who experienced my own challenges with a child with challenging behaviors, it was important to help & support other parents struggling with the same issues. She realized that if an experienced social worker found it difficult to navigate these social systems and get the help you needed for your child, then other parents and families are in serious need of some assistance. Through her parenting classes, parenting tools and individual parent coaching services, she helped families learn new skills and strategies to create a positive and safe home environment. As a mompreneur, she was still able to be a dedicated wife and mother with the ability to focus her time and energy on raising her children as well as fostering positive relationships, personally and professionally. She's here to coach you through it all...one step at a time!
